Spacette

When Spacette launched in March 2020, LA-based Jordan Heimburger didn’t know he was creating a musical idea built to thrive during the weird years of the pandemic—and then come out from hiding when the time was right.

Spacette’s sounds draw from turn-of-the 80s synth and guitar tones over uptempo pop and rock feels, reminiscent of the days when the music and art scenes intertwined on the Lower East Side of NYC, while the lyrics reference themes related to the best Sci-Fi of that era in the context of daily life, with a don’t-think-too-hard-about-it banger thrown in for good measure.

The Spacette EP includes vocals from Ann Louise Thaiss (Honey Whiskey Trio, solo artist) and Bryan Hoskins (John Henry, solo artist); solos from Doug Organ (keys, Here Lies Man), Heather Rivas (keys, solo artist), and Ben Reece (sax, The Feed, Ben Reece Unity Quartet); and live drums from John Pessoni (The Urge), Kevin Bowers (The Feed, Kevin Bowers’ Nova), and Tony Barbata (John Henry).
